Landlords ol properties to be licenced as an HMO are required to ensure that the doors accessing the circulation space from living rooms, bedrooms and kitchens are fire doors with 30 minutes fire resistance (integrity). DOORS: Suitable existing doors can be upgraded easily by the application of Aquafire FRC. The doorkit should only be used on traditional panelled doors or similar of substantial construction. Doors should be sound and fit frames properly. Aquafire FRC should not be used for upgrading modern dowelled or flush doors. MAINTENANCE: If undisturbed Aquafire FRC will remain effective. Where doors require redecoration a coating of Aquafire FRC topcoat should be applied. Detailed advice on application and maintenance should be obtained from Aquafire Systems.
