Doorkit Details
A door kit provides sufficient materials to coat a traditional panel door (7' x 3) both faces, all edges (doors and frames) and facings. Available in a Satin or Matt finish,

Aquafire Systems will supply on request an application certificate detailing site, contractor, number of door kits supplied. On completion, the certificate is signed by the Contractor. Labels which indicate that Aquafire FRC has been applied are also available.

The Aquafire materials must be stored frost free, The Aquafire FRC materials are supplied ready for use after stirring thoroughly and should not be thinned. Brushes, rollers and spray equipment should be washed out in warm water immediately after use.
For the best results with Aquafire FRC we recommend:-
1.     Before application, ensure that the
substrate is dry and free from
contamination and any residue from
the stripping of previous coatings is
completely removed.
2.     All equipment is washed out
occasionally during use in order to
reduce build-up.
During application the coatings are
not overbrushed.
Before applying subsequent coats,
ensure that the previous coat is dry.

While the application of Aquafire will enhance the fire performance, as circumstances will vary in every application where upgrading by coating could be considered, this Information is provided for guidance only. It is recommended that full consultation is made with the regulating authorities or a fire consultant to ensure acceptability.

NOTE: Circumstances will vary from building to building and doorset to doorset. It is important therefore to look at each case individually when assessing the potential for upgrading. If upgrading with an intumescent coating is acceptable to the regulating authorities, assess whether each existing door and frame under consideration is suitable. This will depend not only on the design and materials used but also on all relevant aspects of the construction of the doorset.

When considering the suitability of each individual door ensure that:-
After removing the existing coating, the doorleaf is in good condition with no gaps, holes or loose joints.
All panels are sound.
The door fits correctly In the frame.
